About us

It was established in 2024 within Piri Reis University, which has a deep-rooted history in the field of maritime. Our center operates with the aim of encouraging sustainable practices and increasing social awareness by taking Atatürk’s vision and environmental awareness on maritime as a guide. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk emphasized the importance of the seas and maritime, supported scientific and technological advances in this field, and took important steps to develop Turkey’s maritime potential. We are also integrating the concept of sustainability with maritime and environmental management by keeping this legacy alive.

The main purpose of our center is to conduct innovative research and develop applications for sustainable environmental management and the protection of marine ecosystems. Our primary goals are to spread environmental awareness and contribute to the protection of the seas with projects carried out in the fields of education, research and application. Our management consists of academics and professionals who are experts in sustainability. Our center constantly produces new strategies to develop environmentally friendly projects and increase social awareness.
