Marine Drone Demonstration

The marine drone (Smartium) provided by Piri Reis University within the scope of the LEARN4SEA project was demonstrated to our guests attending the 2nd Meeting of the #LEARN4SEA Project – Innovative Joint Learning for Environmentally Friendly Behavior of Communities in the Black Sea Basin – on 11 April 2025. The possibilities and capabilities of the Smartium marine drone in different sea situations were observed and appreciated by our guests.

The Samrtium marine drone is a remotely operated vehicle for collecting pollution on the sea surface. With its capability, it can go to predetermined points using GPS connection and collect the waste on the sea surface in its basket during the journey.
